How to Pay with Crypto in Stores

How crypto holders can pay at physical stores using card payment rails.

Most physical stores do not accept on-chain crypto directly. A crypto-funded card solves this by letting the customer fund an account with supported crypto and pay the merchant through a normal card terminal.

For in-store payments, use a physical card when a terminal requires chip or contactless presentation. Keep your card unlocked, confirm available balance, and check the merchant currency before approval. For larger purchases, verify card limits in advance.

Receipts and app notifications matter. They help reconcile the merchant amount, exchange rate, and final debit from the crypto-funded balance. If a refund is issued, it may return through the card network rather than directly on-chain.

Karta makes this flow simple for everyday retail spending while still giving users visibility over their crypto-funded balance.
